The problem is when you do that to a drive that gets a good review, and then noticeably downgrade the hardware. Then again, I've seen multiple other SSDs from other vendors with language that basically says, "We can swap out parts at any time and you should never take the launch specs to be indicative of final hardware." And if you're doing a budget part, that's probably okay - not great, but okay. JarredWaltonGPU said:I would like to think Adata learned its lesson since the last time. TBW is at 780TB per TB of capacity and the drive is backed by a five-year warranty. The Legend 960 Max reaches up to 7,400 MBps / 6,800 MBps for sequential reads and writes and up to 750,000 / 630,000 IOPS for random reads and rights. At 4TB the Legend 960 Max is reasonable for a high-end PCIe 4.0 SSD if you want a svelte heatsink, possibly for PlayStation 5 use, but the WD Black SN850X is otherwise attractive. This pricing feels a bit high at 1TB with heatsinked drives like the Lexar Professional NM800 Pro around and there’s fair competition at 2TB, too. During the time of review the prices dropped on these to $84.99, $169.99, and $369.99, respectively. A 2.5mm spacer is bundled for use in 9.5mm drive bays, allowing compatibility with virtually every notebook, desktop, and console. The Adata Legend 960 Max, as with the original Legend 960, comes in 1TB, 2TB, or 4TB flavors. Just 7mm thick, the SU650 is an easy fit in ultrabooks. The Migration Utility is especially helpful for users making the move from HDD to SSD, as it is designed for simple and quick backup and migration of the contents of entire drives, including the operating system. ![]() SSD Toolbox allows users to monitor and manage the SU650, with drive status, wear level, and lifespan information. Proprietary software - SSD Toolbox and Migration UtilityĮvery SU650 purchase qualifies for free downloads of ADATA SSD Toolbox and Migration Utility. They are also completely silent and consume very little power, all while better protecting your data. There's no mechanical component inside SSDs, so they outperform traditional HDDs with higher resistance to shock, vibration (1500G/0.5ms) and extreme temperatures (0☌-70☌). With the support for ECC (error correction code) technology, the SU650 can detect and fix errors to ensure data integrity and help to extend SSD lifespan Its MTBF (mean time between failures) is up to 2 million hours, or 25% more than 2D NAND SSDs. ![]() The intelligent SLC caching algorithm allows NAND Flash memory to operate in single-level cell mode and boosts performance, helping sustain peak SU650 read/write speeds up to 520/450MB per second for smoother and faster boot, file transfers, and downloads. With 3D NAND Flash, the SU650 features higher efficiency and increased reliability compared to 2D NAND SSDs with an improved cost-performance ratio. For those who want to experience a clear PC upgrade, the SU650 is an excellent choice with a great cost-performance ratio. The SU650 features SLC caching and advanced error correction technologies to ensure optimized data performance and integrity. It delivers read/write performance up to 520/450MB/s and greater reliability than 2D NAND SSDs. The Ultimate SU650 solid state drive implements 3D NAND Flash and a high speed controller, offering capacities up to 480GB.
